SkinPen® Precision Micro-needling

What does the treatment entail?
Micro-needling involves puncturing the skin lightly with micro-injections (using the skin pen). The technique of administration varies however, the technique focuses on the superficial layers of the skin with minimal bruising and bleeding. Topical cream is applied 20 minutes before to ensure there is no discomfort.
What aftercare is involved?
Patients should avoid make up, excessive alcohol, exercise, or sun for the first 24 hours.
How does the treatment work?
Micro-needling uses tiny channels to create microscopic injuries in the epidermis. They work below the skin surface to naturally regenerate and repair skin. This triggers the production of collagen by fibroblast cells & elastin (which slows down with age), new cells are generated, and blood supply is enhanced.
Who should avoid this treatment?
It is not advisable if you are breast feeding or pregnant. It is safe to be used on all skin types, light to dark.
Are there any side effects?
Quick 48-hour recovery time. It has mild post procedure effects – similar to a mild to moderate sunburn.
Peels - Rejuvenating Skin Peels
Skin peels can be used in combination with your personalised skincare regimen and injectable treatments, will give you natural optimal results in improving your skin health.
Skin Peels are recommended for skin ageing, sun damage, hyper-pigmentation or anyone wishing to have a rejuvenating boost to the skin. It is ideal for skin concerns such as:
- Ageing- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Adult/Teen Acne prone skin and Acne Scars
- Hyper pigmentation
- Rosacea and sensitive skin
- Pore Size and uneven texture
- Dull skin tone
How long does it take to work?
You will notice results straight away and skin will be fresher, glowing and with an improvement in texture and tone.
We recommend a course of three peels – one peel treatment monthly for optimum results.

How long does it last?
Optimal long-lasting results will be achieved if you are on the correct personalised skincare plan before and after having the treatment.
What does the treatment entail?
First, Dr Georgiana will carry out a detailed skin analysis and choose the perfect peel prescription most appropriate for you. Where the treatment is recommended:
- Your skin will be cleansed using the appropriate cleanser from the Neostrata® range to remove any make up or oil.
- Neostrata® Pre Peel Cleanser is used to prepare the skin for the Peel.
- The Rejuvenating Peel is then applied and left on for two to four minutes. You may experience a mild warming sensation briefly whilst the peel is applied.
- Then it is neutralised with pads soaked in Peel Neutraliser, which restores the Ph balance of the skin after the acids in the peel.
- An oxygen infusion recovery mask is applied to refresh the skin and promote healing.
- The final step is the application of Neostrata® Bionic Face serum to restore the skins barrier, and Aminofil concentrate to plump and firm the skin and a final Neostrata® Defend Sheer Physical SPF50 cream for broad spectrum UV protection.
What aftercare is involved?
Most people will be able to walk out of the clinic fresh faced and hydrated without any signs of treatment after a chemical peel.
Patients are advised to avoid shaving 24 hours after the procedure and avoid the gym, swimming, and sauna for 48 hours.
Avoid make up for 6 hours unless mineral based make up which can be applied directly post treatment.

How does the treatment work?
Neostrata skin peels are a highly effective superficial peeling system which include
- Rejuvenating Peels using Glycolic Acid peels
- Targeted Clarifying and Brightening Peels using Citric Acid and Mandelic Acid (may be layered with the Rejuvenating Peels)
- Retinol peel containing Retinol, Aminofil, Neo-citrate and Bisabolol.
These exfoliate the skin, stimulate the growth of collagen and elastin, and reduce lines, wrinkles, and other blemishes.
Who should avoid this treatment?
Superficial chemical peels can be used on all skin colours. They are gentle enough to minimise pigmentation post procedure complications.
However, there are a few clients who are unsuitable for peels:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Using Roaccutane or prescription retinoids
- Having radiation or chemotherapy
- Allergic to glycolic acid, citric acid, Mandelic acid or latex
Are there any side effects?
There may be slight initial reddening of the skin, followed by limited peeling a day or two later.
The active Peel solution causes the superficial epidermal layer of the skin to peel off and may cause slight initial reddening which will usually subside after 1-2 hours.
