Advanced Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers provide a long-lasting, natural-looking treatment that can be used to lift and reshape facial features and fill out and smooth away wrinkles.

Why choose Dermal Fillers?

Dermal filler injections work on a very simple principle, which is to add volume into the skin.

They put back what nature gave us. Treatments have changed enormously over the last decade and can be tailored to your specific needs.

“I look so much less tired now and no one can tell I have had anything done” I have never been a fan of the overdone look and wanted to start looking after myself. What made you go ahead? I wanted to slow down the ageing process, to enhance what I have, and to make the best of my features. Dr. Georgiana won’t over treat anyone and encourages you to remain natural looking."

What does the dermal filler treatment address?

The most common treatments using dermal fillers are:

  • Anti-ageing, troubleshooting wrinkles – addressing deep lines and creases such as nose to mouth lines
  • Anti-ageing, restoring volume – smoothing out facial hollows around problem areas such as the temples either side of forehead
  • Anti-aging, lifting – facial tissues which have become loose with time can be lifted for a fresher look using dermal fillers
  • Facial Profiling – Using key scientific principles of beauty to rebalance facial features such as the nose, chin and lips
  • Non-surgical nose job – a very popular procedure, sculpting and reshaping the nose very effectively without the cost, risk or downtime involved in surgery
  • Lip enhancement – especially where the lips are very thin or imbalanced, or deep smokers’ lines have appeared

Treatment areas typically include the forehead, temples, under-eyes, ear lobe correction, cheeks, nose, nose to mouth lines, lips, lip lines, chin and jawline.

Thinner fillers can eradicate even the smallest of lines from around the lips, mouth and forehead (including crow’s feet). Thicker fillers can lift and reshape. They add volume to hollow cheeks, fill out deep acne or other scars, and enhance lips.

How long does it take to work?

Immediately! You’ll see the results straight away but bear in mind that you’ll have some initial swelling which will calm down over a few days.

What to expect from the procedure?

Typically, your procedure is completed in up to 30 – 45 minutes.

Dr. Georgiana will advise you how this procedure could help and will also ensure that the results are not overdone. This minimally invasive procedure can achieve a soft and natural look.

How long does it last?

Most fillers provide an immediate noticeable improvement with lasting results (up to one year). The longevity of the product varies depending on age, area injection site, quality of skin, lifestyle and healthiness. Effects usually last 6-12 months (face) and 3-6 months (lips).

Once the results fade, your appearance will simply return to how it was before you began dermal filler treatment.

When can I have a top up?

To maintain the effect, top ups are available after 4 weeks of your original treatment.

What does the treatment entail?

FDA approved “Gold Standard” fillers are used: Restylane®, Juvéderm® and Teosyal®. These are high-quality, extensively tested dermal filler product ranges. Importantly, they have an excellent safety profile and treatment can even be reversed through another injection to dissolve the product.

Treatment involves 4-6 injections per area of the face.

To minimise any discomfort ultra-fine needles or micro-cannulas can be used, the filler itself includes a numbing agent and treatments commence only after the application of topical numbing cream.

What aftercare is involved?

There is no recovery time with dermal fillers, so you can immediately resume normal daily activities. Patients should avoid excessive alcohol, excessive or sun for the first 24 hours

How does the treatment work?

Dermal filler is a smooth injectable sterile gel containing hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar occurring naturally in your body to provide volume, structure, elasticity and moisture to your skin. As you age you lose your natural hyaluronic acid. The bones, muscles and fat pads also change affecting your facial shape. This leads to the signs of ageing as seen by facial volume loss, reduced skin elasticity, folds and wrinkles.

Dermal filler is designed to replace lost hyaluronic acid. This improves folds and wrinkles, as well as attracting water to replenish moisture to your skin. It also encourages your body’s existing hyaluronic acid to increase collagen and elastin production, further improving skin integrity and quality. Overall, this restores a natural and youthful appearance.

Who should avoid this treatment?

Women who are pregnant and/or breast-feeding, people with severe allergies or a history of anaphylaxis and consumers of blood thinning medications such as Warfarin or Heparin.

Are there any side effects?

Most possible side effects are related to the action of injecting the skin, not the product itself. These include redness, minor swelling, itching, tenderness around injection site and potential lumps in the treated area. These can be reduced by massage. If you are prone to cold sores, there is a small chance that one will occur following a lip enhancement. In very rare instances (1 in 15,000) blood supply from the smallest vessels can be disrupted causing scab formation and, in some cases, scarring.

Only 1 in 20,000 treatments result in an allergic reaction. Although dermal fillers can be reversed using another injection, this requirement is extremely rare.
